Progesterone levels it can mean low progesterone it can mean high estrogen you can even be in a state of estrogen dominance even if you are menopausal because your estrogen levels are low in menopause but your progesterone levels can be even lower and why is this a problem when the body is in a state of estrogen dominance there are lots of things that occur as a
Result of it one of the biggest problems being struggling with weight loss that’s probably going to be one of the biggest things with more concentrated weight and what i’ve been calling a hormonal belly um in the hips thighs glutes and the problem is when the body is in a state of estrogen dominance it is a metabolic condition and when you are in this metabolic
Condition you can’t go about it using conventional weight loss techniques which is just hey just eat less just move more and i can’t tell you how many people have come to me saying christine i work out so hard i am so disciplined i eat healthy i exercise regularly i do not touch a drop of alcohol but no matter what i do i can’t lose weight i’ve had people come to

For you to drop weight with a hormone imbalance you need to first balance the hormones and i am saying that so slowly because you need to not just dive right in to weight loss you need to spend a little bit of time revving up that that metabolism eating in a way that satisfies the body so you feel full and feel good and not it’s not about eating less when you have
A hormone imbalance it’s about getting the appropriate nutrients you need to keep your body balanced because when the endocrine system when your hormones are not functioning properly your body is going to prioritize hormone function over your weight loss goals based on vanity your body needs to function and your body will continue to while out in dysfunction until
You give it what it needs so the question i’ve been getting a lot lately is what can i do to correct estrogen dominance so the number one thing that you can do is to shift to eating a real whole food nutrient dense diet i want you guys to eliminate all toxic processed foods that include hidden estrogens conventional meats dairy products i want you guys to choose
Grass-fed pasture-raised organic whenever possible we always want to go non-gmo with respect to the foods pesticides free and we also want to make sure that you are consuming adequate amounts of fiber fiber is probably a side of protein probably the second most if not it’s almost tied for first for the nutrient that people do not get enough of now fiber falls
Into the carbohydrate category but the difference between fiber and conventional starches is the fact that fiber does not cause your body to have an insulin response instead it passes straight through the small intestines and allows your body to have a bowel movement and this is important because this is this is so important because fiber will allow your body to
Detect to detox excess estrogens it allows your body to detox excess cholesterol and it allows them to be excreted in fecal matter and this is actually a very big thing because a lot of people don’t realize that estrogen can be eliminated from the body when it is in excess because if you are having irregular periods the purpose of a menstrual cycle that does not

Uncomfortable to hear because it means we have to make changes um and i think that’s insane that your doctor your primary care provider and your ob gyn refuse to test your estrogen levels you can get them tested by a blood test i’ve heard of a lot of folks having a lot of success with naturopaths as well as functional medicine doctors i think that’s absolutely
Disgusting um that if the people will not allow you to get your own hormone levels tested that’s absolutely insane they say it’s not reliable and they can’t measure it i i still think that it’s it’s just unacceptable for us to not be able to have some baseline um and that being said you guys um what i would like to talk to you guys about for tip number three
Is to quit birth control i’m talking to your functional medicine doctor about non-birth control options and if you are on hormonal birth control i will do an entire video series on the impacts of hormonal birth control but with that being said you guys i think that quitting birth control is going to be a very very crucial thing to do to help correct estrogen
Dominance um the next thing you want to do tip number four is to exchange your personal care products i encourage you guys to look out for personal care products and then they want you to go on the pill oh my goodness i think that if we can go back to that statement i think a lot of doctors want to solve problems with medicine not necessarily nutrition and
Lifestyle changes i think that they may either have very little faith in the human’s ability to change their lifestyle or can’t be bothered to teach you how to do so and obviously they they get paid from the pharmaceutical companies you guys let’s keep it real here so i think that you know quitting hormonal birth control is going to be it’s going to be quite
Important if you are having issues specifically with your hormone health so again the next tip i shared was exchanging your personal care products looking for things that are free of parabens sulfates go for the cleaner products so that they don’t have any of these essence that synthetic ingredient ingredients the next thing you want to do is get moving exercise
Is insanely crucial to speed up the liver detox process of those excess estrogens it’s going to boost your insulin sensitivity it’s going to boost your weight loss and it’s going to help any mood swings associated with estrogen dominance because if any of you guys have been feeling in this way if you have pcos if you have any of those types of things it is going

Paper but the reality is practicing relaxation techniques like meditation yoga prayer journaling gratitude having a devotional time any type of de-stressing technique will free up your body’s progesterone because progesterone is needed progesterone is needed in order to mitigate estrogen dominance and as a result of that um progesterone can be converted into
Cortisol when you are in a state of stress so it’s important to make sure that you’re getting plenty of sleep at night you’re getting plenty of water and you’re allowing your body that time to detox and recover from the stress of the day so who here um watching this can honestly say that they are um in a state of chronic stress where on a regular basis your
Body is just so stressed so overwhelmed to the point that you you feel it like everywhere and that type of physical and mental and emotional stress is very real and it is very toxic so um what i challenge you guys to do right now is also there are supplements that can help manage this and i will be going into more depth in that in the future regarding the new
