Braunfels texas so so basically what you saw was the quick interaction or the first interaction after what happened or what transpired uh let me give you a quick summary a quick rundown and we’ll get into the video um basically i’m one of those americans millions of millions of americans that are prescribed to medication on a monthly basis and i have been
For 20 to 23 years that’s a controlled substance it’s just scheduled to controlled substances schedule 2 substance is the ones that the government pretty much considers to be drugs addictive that they’re bought and sold commonly on the streets um they’re controlled substances though it would be like oxycontin uh vicodin hydrocodone morphine amphetamine
Methylphenidate ritalin adderall um and that’s what i take i prescribed 120 20 milligram adderall pills a month and have been for well over 20 years uh so anyways make the longer the short um my prescriptions have to be picked up monthly in in san antonio texas i was staying in san marcos uh my father lived live close to san marcos uh anyways and i called him
One day my prescription was ready to be picked up and i asked him because he was going to be close to my doctor’s office that day and i said would you mind picking my prescription up and he said no and he said a matter of fact i’ll go buy the walgreens on my way and i’ll have it filled for you and i’ll pay for it which it was it was great because at the time it
Was a very expensive um prescription i didn’t have insurance it was upwards of 350 close to 400 a month um for the medication uh so he did it he filled it he brought it to me i was staying in san marcos and uh uh he gave jimmy and i he was we were sitting there just talking and i opened him but i forgot to take my dose out and taking my dose of the day um and i
And i immediately opened the bottle and immediately could tell uh there was 120 pills in the bottle uh not even close so so i mean the difference there were 30 we dumped them on cable and counted them there were 30 pills 30 out of a 120 that were supposed to be there and all indications were that they were there and i said yo pops what are you what are you doing
You stealing my goods you know what what’s going on here they said oh i didn’t touch it because that’s what he gave me the bag was stapled clothes receipts stapled to it all the info and i said they said that’s that that is short of just 90 pills it says it’s crooked i said they’re trying to pull one over something he goes no he said it’s just a mistake i said
No because i knew the procedure he said calm call him right now and talk to him and tell him and we’ll go back up there so i called and i asked for the pharmacist and i spoke to the pharmacist and i told him what had just happened i said here’s my name i just i just my dad picked this up for me uh y’all filled it and uh uh i just opened up and there’s 30 pills
I said i said dude it’s not like there’s like three pills missing or 10 or 50. there’s 90 pills missing out of 120 there was only 30 pills in there he said he said well he said he said well add me let me ask you this look at your bottle and he said is the quantity that’s written on the model is it circled and there are other initials or two sets of initials by
That and i said yeah i said i said the quantity says 120. it’s circled it’s got initials by and they said that means that it was double counted and verified it i said double counting i mean you counted it twice he goes not only was it counted twice but it was counted twice by two different employees or or the pharmacy in a tech or two texts or oh i don’t know
But two separate people counted it and verified it was the right medication and that the right amount was dispensed and i said so you’re saying that 120 were put in this bottle and somewhere between them you gave it to my father and him bring him to me those pills disappeared or they were stolen sold eaten hidden whatever but you’re saying that he left the
Store with 120 pills and he said that’s what i’m telling you and i said well what if we don’t believe that and what if we think that’s false what are my options do i need to call the cops just to see what it said he goes i guess you do and hung the phone up stupid stupid don’t be rude to me anyways so i had fun i was like yeah i looked at my dad he goes what do
You say and i said he called you a thief and a drug dealer and a liar uh and he told us to call the police and he said get your ass in the car while we’re going back up and said okay so i grabbed a video camera this was quite a while back uh i grabbed a video camera and we headed up to the pharmacy uh after he called me a liar him a liar you know and you know
The policy is uh that they’re double counted uh and verified and signed so once those pills are given to the customer and the customer leaves the store that’s it game over so you’re you’re a corrupt pharmacist you’re a drug dealer or if you’re a a junkie or you’re addicted to these pills or whatever and you’re the pharmacist or the tech or in cahoots um and
You want to get free drugs or sell them from the pharmacy that’s an excellent way because if you’re in cahoots with somebody um that’s perfect because who counts their medication when they get them i don’t um i don’t get them i don’t make the pharmacist count them in front of me but that’s what you need to do and that’s what this video is about that’s what
Everybody needs to do and instead of this double verified signature crap all pharmacies should count the pills as they’re dispensed in front of the customer that gets rid of everything that’s the best safeguard there is because if you’re the corrupt pharmacist um and you you know need to dispense 120 pills and you say okay i just missed 120 pills or a tech
Does the original count takes 120 pills and then you the pharmacist or the second person to verify them so you go and you oh let me verify that that’s the right medication and there is 120. uh yeah there’s 120 yep correct meanwhile you put 90 in your pocket or the drawer or however they do it give the medication to the customer the customer pays takes that into
Custody and then leaves the store so they were telling me that once you leave the store or once they give up the chain of custody that’s it there’s nothing they can do in other words at that point you now become the drug dealer and the thief and the liar uh and so it’s the the perfect kind of deal the only way to combat that is and the pharmacist you’ll see in the
Video he says um you need to count them right there at the counter before they leave the counter when they’re given to you or you need to insist that the pharmacist counts them in front of you right there at the counter and that’s what you need to do whether it’s walgreens or not and again this is the walgreens in new braunfels texas and i don’t care about cvs
Or any pharmacy uh but especially walgreens that’s what needs to happen that’s the safeguard the customer is paying for them who’s supposed to receive them they need to be the verification process because if the blame is on them once they leave the store what are you supposed to do you’re supposed to count them right there at the deal so anyways we’ll get into
The video i may cut it a couple times but the safeguard that they have is is the signature the circle the two the two um initials um so when you leave the store of them that’s it but this guy um it’s funny because he contradicted that’s policy because he knew he’s busted he could see the tingle in my eye and when i had the video camera and we walked back to the
Store uh he knew he was busted so he immediately uh oh let me check on it when i called he had already checked on and did the checks and balances he goes we’re not missing anything everything we’re not over or under on our pill count everything’s fine uh which is basically call me a liar but when i confront him at the store in front of a video camera um he said
Oh let me check on walks off out of camera out of you and uh i’m like i told my father’s like he’s already checked on it what is he gonna check again what’s what’s he gonna go get him out of his pocket or what’s going on you know he already checked on it um he disappears out of you and while we’re waiting about i i think it was two to three minutes it was quite
A long time that we were standing he went way off in the back also the store manager the store manager the suit and tie guy and the pharmacist and there was kind of a tech kind of hovering around uh they came and they were looked like they were in a big hurry and they were panicky uh you know kind of like you know moving around like this hiding behind walls you
Know talking like this to get into the safe the safe in the pharmacy where they keep these scheduled two substances uh and they were panicked and ran over there the manager in the forest and then went back out uh off screen disappeared uh for about another three four minutes um when they came back he came back and he didn’t offer any explanation he didn’t talk
To me and say mr johnson i’m sorry i saw the computer you know didn’t make up a better lot i said i figured out what our mistake was i see what we’ve done we have a new employee that’s none of that crap didn’t even make the effort because he knew his ass was busted um he just comes up to the counter and he starts counting pills he says what okay uh 5 10 15 20 20
All the way up to 120 i mean my dad is looking at each other like what about your double verification and that we’re liars and the drug dealers you’re just going to start throwing pills out and not tell us anything and that’s what he did he just starts giving us the pills he said and 120 pull up and give it to me so basically he’s admitting that he was a thief
That he knew what he was doing because the whole point of the double verification process so if you don’t have the customer who’s a crook a drug addict a thief a liar uh they could say every time oh i’m short on pills i walked out put in my car but oh i’m short you screwed me and they just give you the pills no way none works like that he didn’t challenge us he
Didn’t see anything he saw that video camera and he knew he was he knew he was busted and he just gave him the pills um so and then he gives me the advice that from now on you need to ask them or you need to count them right here at the counter or you need to make sure that the pharmacist counts them right there in front of you so that’s the deal that’s the easiest
Way ever to uh that’s what all pharmacies should do they should dispense the pills and watch them count them put them in a thing hand them to the customer that breaks the chain of custard it’s verified then if you leave the store and you say they’re missing it’s on the customer it’s not them so walgreen yeah busted um i don’t like them i don’t use them anymore
I suggest nobody else uh but whatever pharmacy you use make sure they count them right there in front of you and one more quick note i may stop in as we get into the video you’ll see it’s self-explanatory um in recourse of what i should have done to this sob who stole from me and tried to call me a liar um i should have gone back up there the next day and showed
