My gut symptoms changed during treatment. felt different than the first. i’m also going to talk about what i’m doing since i finished my round of treatment to keep moving things forward. of antibiotic treatment to clear sibo. so, it felt, and hopefully, make it a little let’s get started. this video follows
Up on my that video covers a brief overview of what sibo is, a small intestinal, bacterial overgrowth, my first three-week course of treatment. if you are not sure what sibo is or you want to hear about what happened the first time through, be sure and check out that video. i’m going to leave a card for you
Guys up here in the corner, okay, and onto part two here. now, if you’ve been watching my videos for a little while, you know that i like to enter into any kind of change, whether that’s a diet, supplement, a medication change, or even a lifestyle change like changing bedtime. i like to enter those changes with
A question in mind or a hypothesis to consider, “how do i know if this treatment or intervention after my first round of treatment, my and my brain fog had improved quite a bit. but pretty soon after i stopped the treatment, in fact, i hadn’t even realized how much it had improved until i stopped the treatment. going
Into the second round of treatment, i was wondering, improvement with the bloating? and how are things going to change?” that’s the question that i went in asking. the basic treatment protocol was the same as last time. this is 500 milligrams of rifaximin twice a day, so morning and evening, and neomycin at 500
Milligrams three times a day. i also was adding n-acetylcysteine, sometimes called nac, as a biofilm buster to just help make sure that the bacteria were getting cleared out. and then something new that i added this time at the advice of my naturopath was something called partially hydrolyzed guar gum, or phgg for short.
It’s a fodmap-friendly fiber supplement. this is in response to a really well done clinical study that showed that people that use the supplement during sibo treatment had better outcomes. so, i went ahead and tried the supplement out. i started low and slow because i was a little nervous to use fiber. but it didn’t really
Seem to flare now let’s take a look at the clips of video hey, there, everyone. i’m on day five. it’s been a little easier getting started this time than last time. last time, i had a pretty bad migraine headache on, i think, day three, and i had a lot more nausea. this time around, i am feeling a lot more
Balanced. i’m having a seeing the same immediate effect on my bowel movements. and i’m wondering if this is because between. it’s a prokinetic medication designed to try and help your bowels move better. it did seem to sort of help. but it wasn’t really doing all that much. and when i stopped taking it, i got
Really horribly constipated, way more constipated than i ever normally am with my normal diet, and before i had even done sibo treatment at all. so, i’m deciding that medication probably isn’t for me, and i’m not going to keep taking it. but for now, i’m just tracking again, like last time. i’m tracking my bloating. i’m
Tracking my joint hey, everyone, it’s day 12. it’s interesting. little bit of mild nausea. but i’ve had a lot i haven’t really seen the profound impact on my bowel movements. things are actually a little on the constipated side for me. i am pooping every day, but it’s nowhere near as dramatic as it was
With the last round. i’m feeling like maybe i don’t think i’m going to need to do a third round of treatment. i’m going to follow this through and see. i am finally feeling a little less bloating. it’s finally improved a little bit. but other hey everyone, day 14. i wanted to report that yesterday and today i have been really,
Really tired. i was just about to start thinking that this second round of treatment hadn’t really done very much for me, and i was going to report to my doctor that nothing seemed to be happening. but tired, and i feel really, really cold. i’m why that is. so, i think something’s happening. hey, everyone. it’s
Day 19, and i feel like i’m just kind of sailing into the home stretch. i’m just feeling a pretty marked reduction in bloating, and i’m hoping to maintain that. i that is my plan right now. i’m going to continue because working under the assumption that but there might still be a fungal overgrowth. it’s just
Sort of a hunch i have about myself, and she agreed that was a good idea. so, sleeping well. i’ve recently started meditating with these recordings that are absolutely amazing, and they also help relieve my bloating. so, sure to report in at the end on the last day. okay, so i have completed my full second round
Of rifaximin and neomycin. i did have kind of a last doses on saturday. today’s tuesday. i wasn’t feeling well over the last couple of days. but this morning, i feel absolutely amazing. i just feel like inflammation in my whole belly area and at the tops of my legs has just decreased. that whole area of my body
Feels really open and alive. so, that’s a really exciting development. whether it would have an impact on my skin. but i want to show you that i’ve had a pretty bad breakout over the last week. i don’t know if you can see this area over here. it’s this persistent area that always has a little bit of acne. i’ve
Imagined, and my naturopath thought as well, that it was probably related to sibo. but sibo treatment hasn’t cleared it up. this is just kind of an interesting insight into what my symptoms are specifically caused by, and it looks to me like that acne isn’t necessarily related to sibo. weeks ago yesterday. and i felt pretty
Good since i finished. i’ve maintained really good bowel function. my bloating’s been pretty good, and my brain fog’s been fine. the bloating has started to creep back in just a little bit, but it’s nowhere near as severe. i’m even experimenting with some foods that i haven’t been able to eat in a really
Long time, like bread. i had a piece of bread, and nothing bad happened, so that was really amazing. i also just started the antifungal medication just the other day. the dose is kind of high, up. i’m really glad that i did that because each time i’ve taken it, i felt somewhat nauseated, and i’ve also felt a little brain
Foggy from that. so, i think it’s kind of interesting, and i think that’s going to help me understand more about what’s going on with the microbiome in my gut and which particular aspects of it are affecting my i’m also going to be running a follow-up sibo test shortly. once i get through that and get through
The antifungal treatment, i will be sure and make another video to check back in about that. if you have any questions for me about my second round of sibo treatment or about sibo treatment in general, be sure and leave them in the comments below, and i’ll be sure to get back to you. that was my round two of rifaximin
Treatment. it was a little easier than last time in general, but i had some new symptoms that came up a little bit. but overall, continued improvement with my bowel movements, now, if you’re someone who’s struggling with these kinds of digestive challenges, and you’re not sure why they’re happening or how they’re
Happening, right now working on building an online course. to talk with a few more people to make sure to make it absolutely awesome and perfect to if you would be willing to help me out to build this course, i would love to meet a link to schedule that below this video. please go ahead and do
That. okay, i hope that this video helped you demystify what happens during sibo treatment and helped you understand some of the side effects that might happen. it really just helps bring down the fear level about these kinds of treatments. please like, and share this video if you feel like it helped you or if
