Hi everyone welcome to my youtube channel today’s video is going to be about my experience my journey on accutane so what accutane is for people that don’t know basically i’ll summarize it is it’s a very harsh severe medication you can only get our idea of really bad severe acne till you take every day and it varies in milligrams it comes with a lot of side effects
You can’t get pregnant on this drug you have to get a blood work done every month just to make sure everything’s like okay in your body yeah so that is basically what a keychain is you have to be prescribed accutane by a dermatologist so how i got to beat on accutane was because my acne was super super bad a lot of people that didn’t know me knew i had bad acne
And a lot of people that don’t know me probably you’re looking at this video and you’re thinking you never had acne never i got acne well it’s because i wore a lot of makeup to try to cover it i never went out i never like met people went out with friends because i was so self-conscious about my skin last summer summer 2016 so a year ago my acne was at its all-time
Worst it was superduper bad and it all started when i switched my birth control go to the next point on which is basically a like stick this big that’s implanted in your arm right here weeks later after i got that my skin started getting pretty bad i would like buy products to try to help it i was using a bunch of stuff to basically make it go away but it was
Just making it get worse and about a month later my skin was so bad i will insert clips at the end of this video of what my skin used to look like last summer so i got off of that and i switched my birth control and during that time i got to a dermatologist i got to see a dermatologist it took like a month to get in so when i first got into the dermatologist she
Prescribed me antibiotics and like a topical tretinoin or something like that and it helped my acne like a few months later went away like it was getting better i couldn’t believe it i’m so happy i was left with scarring so that happened around october/november when my skin was clear again once december-january hit my acne started coming back i was freaking out
I was still going to my monthly appointments with my dermatologist she basically was like have you ever heard of accutane and i was like yeah because my cousin was on and i’ve seen like youtube videos of people being on acting and she kind of asked me if i was willing to go on it i was really scared because accutane comes with so many side effects and they like
Hype up the drug to make it slick they hype it up to make it seem like it’s like this crazy scary you’re gonna die medication so i was really scared but i was also really happy and excited because i’m like i knew accutane would work even along with a bunch of side effects but so i said yeah a month later i’ve got my first prescription because you have to wait a
Month due to like pregnancy tenants it’s harder when you’re a girl but anyway so a month later i started i started in january so this happened in december so a month later jamie where i started at first i took 40 milligrams a day and then like my third or second month i started taking 60 milligrams a day which is pretty high the highest you can go is 80 high acne
Blew up in the first month that got so so so bad worse than when it first when i first started and i was freaking out i thought it wasn’t gonna work so these are the side effects that i experienced dry skin wasn’t that bad but i still experience really dry skin dry lips really bad like my number one side effect was joint pain it was really bad my back would always
Hurt my hips always hurt after work like i would bend down and get something than when i stood back up i just it was so painful another side effect that experience i got a really weird rash on my hand i could try to find a picture and insert it but it was weird i think it was eczema see i didn’t experience that much of side effects as other people do i had one
Nosebleed because your nose gets so dry my nose got really dry towards the end my eyes were really dry in the beginning and i had like one headache and honestly like though those are the only side effects that i experienced everyone when i got my blood work done and everything was fine and i’m just really grateful that i didn’t experience so many bad side effects
That other people do i finished accutane this month today’s the 20th so i took my last panel june 8th and this is what my skin looks like today the only thing that i’m wearing on my skin right now is a tinted moisturizer this is a tinted moisturizer that i’m wearing today it’s literally sheer coverage since i don’t have any more acne anymore i don’t like wearing
So much makeup i like to wear like a bb creme or a tinted moisturizer the tinted moisturizer is very very very sheer so this is what this looks like very very very grateful for the opportunity of getting on accutane if i were to watch this video a year ago today or when my acne was super bad i think i would have cried because i never would imagine myself here today
With clear skin normal skin like before i’m so scared to go out of the house or even go in the store to pump gas or to get gas because i didn’t want people looking at my skin and judging me because you i knew people were judging me because they wouldn’t like to look in my eyes they would be scanning my face it was a really bad time for me i was very depressed
I wouldn’t leave wouldn’t want to leave the house i dread going to work because i was front dad so i decree everybody at the time i think was helping my skin i would cry every night because it hurt so bad to take my makeup off and her hurt to wash my face like literally burned and sting and itch it was terrible i didn’t even want to see my boyfriend didn’t even
Want to hang out my boyfriend he didn’t care like he did not care at all about my acne he still loved me and everything but i just hated me out of the house i hated going on fun activity i’m very blessed that my skin is finally normal and it’s finally clear after 19 years literally i’ve had acne since i was in middle school it started in seventh grade it got really
Bad like freshman year i’ve always had acne but last year got at its peak of being terrible i wanted to make this video just to inform people that know me and i don’t know me kind of what i went through a lot of people ask me what i use for my skincare they asked me about makeup advice and skincare so what i used on my skin during accutane was very simple i kept it
Very simple but for my cleanser i used a survey cleanser i use the survey hydrating cleanser just looked like this i still i this is my first bottle and i still have a little bit left so it lasted me five months i used this morning and night and towards the end of accutane i only would wash my face at night and then in the morning i like put some water on my face so
That’s what i use for cleanser when i took my makeup off at the end of the night i would rub coconut oil all over my skin this isn’t the coconut oil that i use at the time the one i used at the time was like all organic and it actually smells like coconuts this one isn’t organic and it doesn’t spoil a coconut but it still gets the job done i just rub a little bit
Of this on my face and it literally dissolves my makeup and then i’ll take like a rag or even like a makeup wipe and just remove everything so that’s what i use to remove my makeup as a moisturizer what i use is i found this at tj maxx then i wanted to give it a try because it says that it’s all organic all natural it looks like this the brand is by coco kine it’s
An organic matcha base moisturizer i really really like this it really hydrated my face at the end of the night i only use this at night though because it’s so kind of thick that i wouldn’t want to use it in the daytime if i go out and stuff but this stuff is super good i highly recommend it it is by the brand again cocoa kind and it’s all natural and organic and i
Really really like this next product that i always use and i will still continue to use to this day is the mario badescu rose water spray i’m this stuff that really like helped my skin but it’s really hydrating and it just feels good on the skin and it smells good and i use it to set my makeup before my makeup i use that to hydrating after my moisturizer it’s just
The bomb like you everyone has to have this if you don’t have this i don’t know you need to get it it’s amazing towards the last month of accutane i picked this up by the body shop it’s the vitamin e overnight serum and in oil this is also very hydrating um it’s just like the cocoa kind mousse riser but it’s um an overnight serum and this stuff is super hydrating

Will use it to this day it’s amazing truly if you are on accutane even if you’re not on accutane you need this this you just need it so yeah those are some products that i used while on accutane as a toner i used witch hazel but i didn’t really use that during accutane but i use it now and yeah that’s what i used on accutane if any a lot of people asked me what
