Get a chance to i started using threatening back in almost exactly a year ago actually and i’ve had some sensitivity to it so i’ll kind of take a break for it for a month or two then swing back into it so uh finally get a chance to review review this one and i get a lot of comments and questions about this product so that’s why i thought i’d finally get a chance
To review it and it is expensive i don’t when i get to the price i don’t think i paid that when i bought this but anyway okay so they say featuring retinol height retinol the next generation form of vitamin a which is not to be mistaken for the classic form of vitamin a retinol and numerous studies retinal has been demonstrated to be more effective and 11 times
Faster working than retinol without any added irritation the hydrating overnight serum cream visibly addresses signs of aging improving the appearance of wrinkles texture and tone okay so first criteria is packaging no issues with packaging i love the packaging and i love silver metallic colors so that’s a bonus um okay in terms of denatured drying types of alcohol
Does not contain any of those we get to fragrance this does contain a few fragrant ingredients so we’ve got coumarin in there coumarin gives products a vanilla scent which is definitely has the scent of this doesn’t bother me um but coumarin is actually one of the eu 26 fragrances that has to be labeled separately and cannot be included when it’s simply listed
As fragrance because cumin has a higher allergen potential best you’ll buy if your skin is very sensitive we also have carrot seed oil in here which carrot seed oil can be a couple different components it can have a essential oil fragrant component to it as well and then we also have uh the perturks odorada bean extract which is another perfumey pure perfuming
Ingredient and then also contains actual vanilla which also gives things a vanilla scent but is actually beneficial in terms of being an antioxidant so in my opinion if you have sensitive skin this one might be a pass just because of all those different components in there the vanilla isn’t an issue uh but the carrot seed oil can be a potential issue it’s impossible
It has so many different components to it it’s hard to tell if it’s a beneficial carrot oil or if it’s has that fragrance component to it okay so manufacturing location for this one is the use so no issues with that so ease of use there we go definitely has a very orange color to it or yellow color which is just fine because retinol is very yellow so they recommend
Using it in the evening apply it over face and neck they recommend be careful if your neck is sensitive or you haven’t used any retinoids there ever i won’t just start out using this one on your neck because this is a little bit stronger than retinol or other retinoids for that matter so if you’re going to use on your neck be careful it can really irritate it i
Don’t use it on my neck so if i am going to use a retinoid retinol retinoid product on my neck it’s gonna be something more gentle i might start doing it at some point but my neck is very sensitive so there we go um so allow this to absorb and then you can use a moisturizer over it they recommend using it twice a week for the first two weeks and then every other
Evening for the next two weeks and then every night so i’ll slowly taper up to using it more often depending on how sensitive your skin is um it’s got a nice lotion texture absorbs and sets to kind of a natural finish that’s non-sticky kind of shiny finish but it feels very hydrating now i’ve got it on the side of the bottle there we go okay so very easy to use no
Issues at all with that really i do like the texture of this one though okay in terms of antioxidants and beneficial ingredients in this one so we’ve got vitamin e antioxidant hydrating green we’ve got squalane which is a skin identical and green as well as an antioxidant we’ve got hydroxy acetaphenone which is an antioxidant preservative combo ingredient we’ve
Got cloudberry seed oil which i haven’t seen a lot of products but in the last couple weeks i see i’m seeing it more and more often claude berries antioxidants well skin protecting we’ve got three ethyl three zeroethylabsorbic acid which is a derivative vitamin c that’s thought to have antioxidants skin brightening properties we’ve got that carrot seed oil which
Can be emollient it can also be a fragrance ingredient depending on what what part of the carrot oil they use but it can be protecting and have beneficial benefits to it uh then we’ve got retinelle uh which is 0.1 percent as the brand mentions retinol is also known as retinal hyde form of retinoids stronger than retinol but weaker than tretinoin that’s immediate
Step between retinoic acid and retinol it’s great for anti-aging because it helps with decreased wrinkles fine lines smoother firmer skin typically is pretty well tolerated there’s a lot of retinoids out there that can be very harsh uh tretinoin can be very harsh for your skin but this form is pretty well tolerated it’s a great alternative to those that can’t
Use threatening or have a lot of issues with it irritation and things like that so it’s also great stepping stone to work your way up to using stronger products so i use this on my way up to using trenton and finally as well as i use adapylene and retinol and really slowly work my way up over years and finally getting to use it it works just fine no issues at all
Then we’ve got sodium hyaluronic which is a you mapped it we’ve got another vitamin c derivative tetrahexalescal ascorbate which is another derivative it’s thought to have brightening as well as antioxidant benefits we’ve got lecithin a good emollient honeysuckle which is a soothing and preservative ingredient and then finally we’ve got the vanilla which is skin
Soothing and skin protecting so nice ingredient list some emollients hydro ingredients antioxidants while skin brightening ingredients so a really nice product very good um okay my seventh criteria is ammo testing and medicaid is cruelty free so no issues with that performance does a nice job uh help with fine lines i will say it probably has helped with brightening
More than other retinol retinoid type products i’ve used at the same time it i didn’t have any issues with this leaving my skin feeling flaky or dry or irritated really uh fit into my routine without a hitch very nice product overall um pry gear towards normal dry and oily skin types it’s not super friendly for sensitive skin because of those fragrance it’s also
Not super friendly for acne prone skin and in terms of acne jack ingredients we’ve got cetera alcohol squalane hydroxyl purple methyl cellulose steric acid and then sorben isosteroids so not super friendly for acne prone skin although retinol can be an acne fighting ingredient so perhaps it won’t be as big of an issue but if you’re very acne prone just be aware
Of that might be worth checking out the geek and gorgeous a game if you have very acne prone skin okay so then we get to the price of this i bought this a while ago saw a shot so this is the full size one ounce 30 milliliters 106 dollars i don’t know what plan i was on i bought this but um there’s a lot of good dupes that i’ll talk about in a second they’re
Like half the price or less so um it must have gotten a good sale or something i don’t even remember how much i paid for it but i just don’t remember my head pain that much i just don’t okay so we get to the head factor so the similar dupes that are much more affordable uh new holley frog retinol serum is very similar the youth to the people retinol is also
Very similar as well as the may love uh retinal serum they’re all very similar i think the may love is around thirty dollars to use the people’s more expensive it’s around 70. i think the new holley frog is around 60 or so so the most affordable one of there is definitely the may love so um it’s very expensive some good alternatives the geek ingredient a game is
Also very wonderful if you’re looking for a retinol product um seems to work well for a lot of people a lot of people ask about this product and it seems to work great for people but i just guess i didn’t remember spending that much money on it so i don’t know anyway so now i’m definitely gonna finish this one up and because i’m gonna get my 106 dollars worth so
Um anyway so with the 10 being imperfect score i gave this one a seven a really nice product very expensive and again not firmly for acne or sensitive skin types so anyway interesting from you guys i think they have different concentrations of this that are less pricey less priced less expensive but they also don’t have as much of the retinol in there so anyway
