Sudafed or pseudoephedrine caffeine tablets also alcohol can contribute to insomnia and also blood pressure medications particularly hydrochloride or thiazide there’s also furosemide also known as lasix now there’s two categories of medications that your doctor can recommend and prescribe for you there’s the controlled class and then we also have a non-controlled
Class now the controlled class there’s two categories there’s the non-benzodiazepames which are much more preferable and see more in practice for insomnia and this includes ambien also known as sulfidem dosed at 5 to 10 milligrams at bedtime and there’s also lunesta also known as esophaglan dosed out one to three milligrams at bedtime both of which can be given with
Or without food it doesn’t really matter then we also have the benzodiazepine class and this includes lorazepam also known as ativan dosed at 0.5 to 2 milligrams at bedtime and we also have temazepam also known as restoril dosed at 7.5 to 30 milligrams at bedtime again both of which can be given with or without food it doesn’t really matter now the other category
Is the non-control and this is benadryl or diphenhydramine just at 25 to 50 milligrams at bedtime again with or without food it doesn’t really matter so based off of your sleeping pattern your doctor can recommend and prescribe a suitable or appropriate drug for your insomnia now there are some natural products or natural foods that you can try to incorporate
Into your giant lifestyle to help prevent insomnia and this includes st john’s wort which is found over the counter there’s also melatonin also found over the counter and there’s certain foods that you can try to incorporate such as celery watermelon there’s also milk cheese and yogurt that can help prevent insomnia and help you get a better night’s rest there’s
