We’re going to plastic weld this crack in this tray it’s a polyethylene tray so it can’t be glued and it goes to this table saw for cutting time and this soldering iron we have it set to high and it’s just an old soldering iron and what we’re gonna do is we’re going to just heat this up and you just kind of push and you move and you go as deep as you can and we’re
Gonna stitch this back together and to smooth it you may bring it around and this will do a really good job of melting this polyethylene plastic back together okay so i’m gonna flex this into the right position and just kind of almost stitch this into the right height this way almost like a spot weld make sure that it’s all straight once i have it stitch welded i’m
Gonna go back in you can see now if i push on it it stays in the right shape now i’m going to go ahead and do the back and forth motion of putting plastic it’s welding it it’ll be a little rough at first and as i go through and smooth it i’m able to clean it up you know if we need a little bit more plastic we can take a lid off of like an old orange juice container
And then we can use this to put some of this polyethylene plastic in it’ll work just fine so just cut it off and then take that hot plastic will melt it right in there because it just seems like it needs a little bit more filler like a filler rod we use some polyethylene plastic which milk jugs and caps like this or the same plastic so they’ll work nicely okay
To smooth it out i can use this side of the soldering iron to kind of melt it together a little bit like that and just kind of smooth those rough edges not that it’s going to be beautiful but it will kind of fuse everything together a little better so it may not be the prettiest weld but when you put water in it there’s no leaking so if you found this video useful
Please give the video a thumbs up i’d appreciate it
