Y’all I totally forgot to mention WARM water helped a ton! Not hot, but warm.
Hey guys today i wanted to talk to you about the skin condition called perioral dermatitis and how i finally healed it it’s been quite some months now since i have healed it but i distinctly remember everything that i did and how traumatising it was because it got really really bad so if you don’t know if you have clicked on this video you probably know what it is
But if you don’t know i will just briefly explain parallel period i don’t know why it’s still so hard for me to pronounces but perioral dermatitis is a skin rash that forms around your chin underneath your nose and it can also form around your eyes and it’s red splotchy sometimes itchy and just very very irritated skin thankfully mine wasn’t underneath my eyes it
Was mainly just like around my mouth but what caused mine was the overuse of stridex pads and i think the ingredient mentha medicine and menthol in the statics pads especially triggered all the irritation around my mouth and over the course of probably like four months i was able to fully heal my skin and i’m very very happy to be able to say that i’ve been free from
That skin condition for i think four months which is very exciting for me because while i was going through it it really seemed like it was never going to let up no matter what i did because i did try a lot of different things some common things that trigger perioral dermatitis is steroid creams or sprays that people spray in their nose or their mouths or something
Like that i don’t why someone would spray steroid cream or sprays steroid in their nose but that’s just what i read and i definitely wasn’t using anything with steroids in the cream on my face so that’s when i linked the irritation to the strand expats and plus i read online that other people i’d had the same issue so yes once i found out that that’s what it was i
Immediately stopped using all of the products that i was using and well not all the products um i still kept using my bene cream gentle face cleanser because that was very very helpful and just being very gentle on my skin and not causing any extra irritation or anything from what it was what was already happening but i did stop using the straw decks pads obviously
And i also incorporated stiva med care gel into my skincare routine and i used this until it was the perry road.the perioral dermatitis i’m just gonna call it pd from this point on yeah i think that’d be a lot easier and i do think that the introduction to this product into my skincare routine is one of the things that drastically helped helped heal me and i will
Link it below in the description of other things that i tried on my skin was raw aloe i went and bought an aloe leaf and then just cut it open with a knife and rubbed it on my skin every night and i don’t think that was harmful to my skin at all but it definitely just didn’t really help with the irritation and the flare-up and then i also tried this diaper rash cream
Because i read online that the active ingredient zinc in it is helpful and it made sense like in hindsight if you think about it diaper rash cream is a very gentle like this is super super gentle minimal ingredients very calming because it’s for baby’s skin doesn’t have any fragrance or like barely any ingredients and it’s supposed to help like with baby rashes so
You’d think that it would be like calming for to put on your skin but it just didn’t really help either and then i started using i don’t have it with me because i ended up like getting rid of it but there’s this product that i got which i will also link below and this this what i use should only be used for like short-term use because it does have isopropyl alcohol
In it and i didn’t know that until after i was using it but it’s a it is malaise a palm cream i don’t know if that’s how you pronounce it and that did seem to help but not the best ingredient so i would i definitely wouldn’t suggest that for long-term use and i wasn’t using it everyday i would use it like maybe every other day and i would wait like a few minutes
To put this on so that i allowed the malays palm cream to dry it also was taking vsl probiotics which is as far as i know the best probiotic that is available for your skin like any type of skin issue it’s really good to take this specific probiotic and i took it every single day for i think three months and as far as i know that really helped because when i was
Taking it it was actively clearing up but it did take a while like i said it probably took like four months to finally like 100% heal itself and yeah it was really really bad at the beginning super super irritated then it’s kind of easing up after i stopped using the stride x and kind of revamped my skincare routine with the addition of this after probably like
The first month but after that it did it didn’t sometimes flare up but i’m just very thankful that i it’s completely gone i would say like the last month there would be days when i would wake up and i there was no signs of it on my face but then there would be days where it will look like a couple little spots here and there were papa it was mainly like right here
Where it was super stubborn like on the crevices of my whatever this is right here i don’t know um but i just remember it being this was like the last place that it left with pd you just have to be super super patient oh and i also forgot i’ve read somewhere that you that sls is like sensitive or something and can sometimes trigger a pd so i switched to an sls free
Toothpaste and shampoo yeah but i’ve i’ve switched back to my normal toothpaste and that’s been fine i just wanted to kind of share what i did with you guys because i know i was on youtube searching for this type of video when i was going through it so for anybody that has had pd or suffering with pd it will get better in it will go away and heal itself you just
Have to be patient persistent and just you know treat your skin with lots of love and be super gentle with it just you know gentle products everything i hope you guys enjoyed this video and i will see you in the next
