Hi guys welcome to my channel this video is going to take you through the process of me getting my humira shots and what that experience is like so stay tuned and make sure you hit that like and subscribe button if you’re interested in this sort of content um yeah let’s get right into it i actually um have experience with other biologics so hemera is a biologic
Medication that is used to treat like autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis along with crohn’s disease and things like that so this is going to be actually my third treatment that i’m trying i do plan on making a future video about the other two medications that i’ve tried and why they didn’t work for me so yeah we’ll get into that i’m really really hopeful
That himera will be a good option for me long term so i’m actually doing something called combination therapy which is when you take a biologic along with another medication that’s called an immunomodulator and that medication that i’m going to be taking is called in miriam so it’s actually azathioprine is the name of it so i’m going to be taking that daily pill
Along with humira um in humira i will inject myself with humira every two weeks so yeah it’s gonna be self injections i’m gonna take you through the uh the process of what it’s like at the doctor’s office they make you watch a video all this good stuff and the nurse walked me through everything and helped me inject myself and you will see that in this video so

Your immune system so you definitely have to be careful around people with infections and who are sick in general because it’s difficult to fight off an infection when your immune system is suppressed um and also it can make infections worse so you wearing a pandemic so i’m starting to i mean two medications that suppress your immune system is a thyroid also does
The same thing so great but i also forgot to mention that i am going to show you like a little bit of the process of i had to get a lot of blood work done before even getting on the medications i will have to get blood work done every three months just to make sure like my organs are functioning properly you have to get like tested for tb i also got my flu shot
So you’ll see that as well i had to get that because if you’re gonna go on medications like this where it’s a pathogenic system you definitely want to be prepared and i got the camera super close but you definitely want to be prepared for flu season etc and just keep yourself as safe as possible being that we’re in a pandemic i probably won’t be going around as
Many people as um i mean i wasn’t really going out a lot of people but i probably would just be a lot more careful like i’m already careful very careful but i’m gonna be a lot more cautious um so yeah that’s what it is and i forgot to put that in that original intro so yeah there you go so i just got my fully shot so i’m prepared for flu season i just got my
Flu shot and i just got some blood work drawn some blood work done in order to prepare for my hamirah shot but yeah i give my first four shots first four injections of humira um this friday yeah i’m preparing for that i will catch up with you guys between now and the time that i go in i don’t know if i’m going to be able to necessarily record the process we’ll
See how it goes either way i will take pictures of what i can or whatever and then sit down and tell you the story at home so yeah see you guys later hi guys okay it is friday and i’m getting ready to go get my hamera shots so i am going to go to the pharmacy um pick up the prescriptions and then meet with the nurses so they can teach me how to do it but they’re
Actually i think they’re gonna do them i don’t know but yeah so my purse i’m ready to go and i’m wearing like some shorts because i think she said we’re gonna do the injections in my thigh so we’ll see how it goes so yeah catch up with you in a second as i’m getting ready to go milo just wants to stare at me what are you looking at i’m getting ready to leave you
I’m gonna leave you you’ll be okay yeah you’re gonna be okay ready to go inside and pick up the medication now so i’m going to see if i have the courage to ask the nurse if i can report me getting my injections and yeah catch up with you in a second so yeah you want to kind of give it like right here okay you can do it like this or you can do it your
Way whichever way you find yourself comfortable you remember what they told you to do with the pen uh-huh so because this is the start with the number so remember the number so what did they tell you to do first remove the bottom one all right and then flip it well you’re gonna remove the top of your top first and always hold it on the side like this well
Right because you’re never going to touch the at that part of it and flip it see where your foundation was and watch if you’re right come down a little bit more okay and then put it in the skin now do you see your window i can see it here okay so that’s what you want to always see you want to see your windows so that you know the medicine is going in don’t
Be a little nervous if you see a little medicine spill but you always want to see the windows so that you can watch the medicine going in okay all right all right i’m ready one two three can you feel it and do you see it i’ve seen the yellow okay you did an awesome job on your first one and you didn’t jump and you didn’t have people in here like i’m like oh my
God and then once you see it like like it’s disappeared and it’s all yellow okay so i wanted to come on and just let you guys know i wasn’t able to record all four shots for some reason my camera stopped recording but i repeated that same process three more times um it wasn’t painful i did feel a little bit of a burning sensation but that was it i do not have at
The moment the citrate free version of humira which is supposed to cause like no pain at the injection site so that’s definitely something you could ask for that i do not think has a price difference um so yeah i just wanted to let you guys know it did go well she said i did a good job and i will talk about in the next clip um how it went and and everything like
That but yeah i just want to let you know if you are considering it and you’re nervous about needles i definitely think it’s something that you can do you just feel a little prick you don’t actually see the needle going in and yeah and this would be the only time that i would need to do the four shots uh two weeks after this i would do two shots and then every other
Week after that i’ll be doing this okay so this is after the fact i wanted to show you guys um she said i did very well and that a lot of people will like scream and cry and stuff like that because they’re really afraid of needles i’m personally not afraid of needles i was afraid of injecting myself with the needle um but it went well i did experience a little
Bit of stinging but i wanted to show you everything she kind of gave me because i’ve got band-aids gauze i also have alcohol swabs and she gave me a huge box of gloves so but yeah it’s a huge box of books anyways i i’m glad it went well stop fidgeting i’m glad it went well i watched a little video um all in all the process took about like 45 minutes so i
Watched like a three minute video um that video actually showed me what i needed to do in order to start the to get my sharps container because that’s one thing i completely forgot about and didn’t really think about was the fact that i should have a sharps container to dispose of the hamir pins after the fact so um i will put the website on here just in case you
I don’t know are looking at this and you didn’t you didn’t know that you needed the sharps container i’ll put the link on the screen now and below in the description so i’m gonna go ahead and order that it’s free there’s no cost to it the only symptom that i experienced was a little bit of burning the first shot i didn’t experience that i hope everything went in
Well properly because like grabbing the meat on my thigh was a little weird for me because like i have a lot of meat there but i couldn’t really like scoop it up in a way that they do in the video and i was like oh okay anyways nonetheless it did um happen everything went well and yeah i just want to tell you guys that i got all my stuff i’m getting ready to take
My um as a diaper and emiran as a fireprint soon so it actually says that i can take it with food to ease any stomach issues and because i’ve never taken a diaper and i’m definitely taking the food so i’m gonna go home make a sandwich and etc see you guys later thanks for uh coming along and um yeah i don’t know why i’m continuing to talk see y’all later bye
