What is congestive heart failure (CHF)?
Okay what’s up so today i’m just gonna sit here and tell you that it’s been two years that i was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and it’s much much better so get into congestive heart failure at the two-year mark just to recap i was diagnosed february of 2017 with congestive heart failure i goes into the hospital after being treated for asthma bronchitis
You name it high blood pressure for five years with no reveal so finally i go to a hospital one night and they take me in and tells me you’re having a heart attack unbeknownst to me on the heart attack so i didn’t know so doing some tests come to find out that my ef rate was an infraction ejection wow ejection fraction rate is at 15% and they’re looking at me like
How did i get there you know there’s no way you drove and walked in here with a ejection fraction rate of 15% but that’s what it was i came money in so that being said now today two years later my jex infraction rate last tested was over 55 so i’m gonna be due for a new one here within the next month and we’ll let you know what is there so but the journey from the
15% up to ooh getting it up over 30 within through what two months i was put on a program while in the hospital with entresto so novartis which is the mother company of interest oh you’ve probably seen the commercials of the largest heart failure study in the world well i was part of that study so because they felt that my particular case was a little rare person
Dealing with this under 50 of the the type of problems that i was having you know looking at it is they couldn’t you know just look at me and see that i was having a heart problems being that i had been going to the doctor for over five five years being treated for blood pressure and that never would get correct never did get my blood pressure right going to the
Doctor for those for that time also no swelling anywhere i didn’t swell in my joints i didn’t swell anywhere and but while i was in the military i was in the reserves i’ve noticed that i couldn’t do my pts and can do anything physical like i normally could just all of a sudden it was like i had i couldn’t breathe i couldn’t walk far i can’t do anything so with
That being said after finally getting the proper medications and everything i’m doing great now so we’ll see we’ll see what what has this year after two years and it has in store for me i feel great blood pressure’s down recently tested my blood pressure was below 120 over 80 which is has been normal since i’ve been on at rest oh before i got on at rest awhile
I was having a heart failure problems my blood pressure would be well over 160 over 140 easily on normal day-to-day basis so i think the best i’ve seen was like 110 over 75 i don’t see if i can get it back down there but so far so good so being on entresto has been great but now getting uninterested for the long haul for me has been a problem as far as insurance
That is my assurance that has changed at first when i first got out of trust i wasn’t a problem i had insurance so i had a career change you know i’m a photographer so my insurance changed and then there’s a problem while i was in transition there was a period of time there i didn’t have the insurance coverage that i had when i finished and went in the hospital
So after all my insurance right now now i have to pay for his trust oh out of pocket well recent price entresto was going for five hundred fifty seven dollars per month that’s more than insurance alone just for 30 days supply of interest oh so what i did was i contacted interest own and i let them know that i was part of their program they said well we do offer
Assistance for those who can’t afford interest or he needs a new virus drugs so this is what i did i contacted them and found out i went online and found out that he did have a program for assistance and he had another program we’re not just assistance but it’s like a non-profit program that they have what they would pay for your entresto or supply you with not
Pay for they will supply you with the drugs that you need for one year so that’s what i did there’s a qualifying process you have to fill out an application and you have to get the prescription filled through your cardiologist or doctor so i was able to do that i went back to the doctor and they did they know explain to them look i don’t have the money to pay for
The drugs good insurance no problem you’re already on it we will do the prescription so you know just how to pay the office fee and they fill that prescription part and they made facts to entresto and lo and behold on entresto once again so they don’t tell you did a lot of these insurance companies don’t want to cover these drugs they’re expensive drugs they’re
Not just a matter of some of the blood pressure medications where you’ll see that you can get some of the medications for free through local pharmacies but in those heart medications are very very expensive so you really have to do your research contact the drug companies that you’re on if you’re having a problem with insurance if you’re having problems with the
Medications or 14 their medications themselves and that’s what i did so just i just went on entresto calm and in there there’s programs so if you are on entresto and you have an insurance issue use contact entresto that’s all i can say about that is contact and trust oh and they’re more than willing to help you because it makes them look good first of all as their
Drugs getting out there and part of the program that i was in which they don’t say on the commercial is it is used after you’re being treated your hospital visit booked what they were doing with me was trying to get entresto into the hospitals so they want to be able to use entresto during your hospital stage and right at the moment they’re not this is a pro only
Through programs outside of the hospital so by me being part of that program i was able to take it while i was in the hospital but it’s not being prescribed for say while you’re having a stay in the hospital like tylenol and aspirin and stuff like that and that’s what their that’s what their goal is their goal is to be able to treat people in the hospital with their
Medications so anything to help that along and to keep you out of the hospital it makes them look good so being that it’s expensive maybe it’ll bring the cost down and maybe more insurance companies are willing to cover it because i see that different insurance companies pay different amounts on prescriptions when i did have the insurance but now that i don’t have
That insurance and don’t have the insurance going through the program through entresto is the only way to i’ll be able to afford at the moment the medications that i need so if you guys have any problems or anything with drugs or you know contact your cardiologists and see if they can find the programs that are out there to help you get the drugs that you need
Since they are prescribing these drugs there’s i’m sure there’s many different drugs and drug companies they prescribe heart failure medications but if you’re on these medications you know do some research you know get in contact to see if you can get some assistance with the cost of the drugs that being said everything is well and hope to be able to keep doing
