Hi this is asmr nurse today’s medication is acetaminophen widely known as tylenol acetaminophen is its generic name its universal name whatever you go its name will remain instead of menophane many people think it is a type of and said however it is not an nsaid its usual indications are analgesic which is to manage pain and antipyretic to reduce fever it is

Usually unharmful but if you take many of them in a short period of time it can be hepatotoxic which means it causes liver damage early liver damage findings are nausea vomiting diarrhea and abdominal pain typically acetaminophen’s daily dose should not exceed three to four grams if a patient does overdose on acetaminophen the antidote would be acetylcysteine

The usual dose of acetaminophen is 500 milligrams to 650 milligram po is there is an iv form of acetaminophen usually reserved for post-operative patients you
